Agent claims he nearly got Liverpool star to sign for Real
Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson almost moved to Real Madrid during his time at Roma, according to football agent Fabrizio de Vecchi.
The Brazilian has been one of the key reasons behind the recent success at Liverpool in which Jurgen Klopp has guided his side to a Premier League and a Champions League winners’ medal in the last two seasons.
Klopp’s defence has vastly improved thanks to the addition of Alisson from Roma in 2018 and Virgil van Dijk from Southampton in the same year.

His brilliant performances for Roma earned Alisson the move to Liverpool but it could’ve been different with De Vecchi claiming he was close to joining Real Madrid.
“It will seem strange, but I have a lot of affection for a signing that in the end could not be: that of Alisson to Real Madrid,” De Vecchi told AS (via Sport Witness).
“The goalkeeper was already playing for Roma, where Walter Sabatini took him, and Ernesto Bronzetti, my mentor, had recently died.
“I would have loved to close that operation: the truth is that I was very close to achieving it.
“Everyone knows that Ernesto carried out many operations between Giallorossi and Madrid: it would have been a nice way to remember him.”
