Arsenal open talks with Fenerbahce over ‘dream’ Ozil move
Fenerbahce and Arsenal have opened talks over a possible loan deal for Mesut Ozil, according to reports in Turkey.
Ozil, the highest-paid player in the history of the club, was once again left out of the matchday squad as Gabriel Martinelli hit a brace in a in their recent Europa League victory over Standard Liege.
Emery made 10 alterations from the side that drew at Manchester United with Ozil not making the matchday squad against Bournemouth on Sunday either.
The 30-year-old has had a difficult relationship with Emery since his appointment last summer and the Spaniard claimed that Arsenal’s youngsters were more deserving of a place in his line-up against Liege than Ozil.
Ozil was linked with a move to Fenerbahce over the summer but a deal never materialised with rumours that the financial aspects would prove too much for the Turkish side.

However, Turkish newspaper Takvim (via Sport Witness) claims that Fenerbahce’s director of football Damien Comolli has opened talks with the Gunners over a potential loan.
Arsenal want the Turkish outfit to pay some of his wages if they are to loan him out with a ‘dream’ transfer on the cards.
Ozil has said before that he would like to play for Fenerbahce at some point in his career after growing up supporting them as a boy.
