As a result of the surgery, Flair will miss next month’s WWE Extreme Rules PPV, but she is expected to return to WWE TV in time to begin her build to SummerSlam. Flair last competed in the Women’s Money in the Bank ladder match which was won by Alexa Bliss.
As of now it is unknown what WWE has plans for Flair and the Smackdown Women’s Title at SummerSlam, but as we noted on Thursday, the Raw side of the women’s division is rumoured to be featuring Ronda Rousey challenging Alexa Bliss for the Title at the August PPV.
In other WWE injury news, we reported today that Sami Zayn underwent shoulder surgery this week and is expected to undergo another surgery in the near future on the other shoulder. Zayn’s injuries and surgeries are expected to keep him out of the ring until 2019.
