Date and Location Announced for 2019 WWE SummerSlam PPV
According to ET Canada, WWE will be holding the 2019 SummerSlam PPV and related events at The Scotiabank in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The Scotiabank will host tonight’s WWE Raw, and more details will likely be announced during the show.
WWE SummerSlam will take place on August 11th, with NXT Takeover taking place the night before and Raw and Smackdown taking place on the 12th and 13th, respectively. All four event will emanate live from The Scotiabank.
“We are thrilled to bring WWE’s biggest event of the summer back to Toronto,” said John Saboor, WWE executive vice-president, special events, in a statement. “We look forward to working with our partners at Tourism Toronto and Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment to build a blueprint that welcomes our global fan base to the great city of Toronto.”
WWE SummerSlam last took place in Toronto in 2004 at The Air Canada Centre, and was headlined by Chris Benoit vs Randy Orton for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, and JBL vs The Undertaker for the WWE Championship. The event also featured Kurt Angle vs Eddie Guerrero and Triple H vsEugene.
