Dragons Set for This Weekend’s Super Region 3 Tournament
MOORHEAD, Minn. — The Minnesota State University Moorhead wrestling team will compete at the Super Regional 3 meet on Saturday and Sunday in Mankato, Minn.
Teams competing include Augustana, Central Missouri, Lindenwood, Mary, Maryville, McKendree, Minnesota State, MSUM, Minot State, Northern State, Ouachita Baptist, St. Cloud State, Southwest Minnesota State, Truman State and Upper Iowa. The top four individuals from each weight class advance to the NCAA Division II National Championships.
The Dragons (8-5, 4-4 NSIC) enter the postseason with momentum, having won their last four duals.
Sophomore Blake Bosch is a returning national qualifier for MSUM. A year ago, Bosch qualified at 125 pounds and finished 1-2 at the meet. He leads the Dragons with a 21-8 mark this season and is ranked fifth in the region at 133 pounds.

Senior Michael Joseph is 19-11 at 174 for MSUM while senior Shawn Porter is 16-11 at 184. Sophomore Garret Hoffner is 14-7 at 157 pounds while sophomore Isaac Novacek is 14-9 at 149. Sophomore Shane Novak is 13-7 at 125 pounds for MSUM.

Last Week: Dragons roll to dual wins over Mary and Northern
MSUM closed the regular season with a pair of convincing dual wins over Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference foes. The Dragons beat Mary, 36-7 on Friday and topped Northern State on Saturday by a 33-10 score.
In the win over Mary, Joseph (174) and Porter (184) earned wins by fall for MSUM while Walker earned a win by technical fall at 141. Bosch won by major decision at 133 to give the Dragons bonus points in four matches.
Against Northern State, Porter and Abdullatif (285) both won by fall for the Dragons. MSUM also won by forfeit at 125 and 133 which helped the Dragons build a commanding 30-4 lead on their way to the win.
