Inter slap eye-watering price tag on Chelsea target
Chelsea will have to submit an offer of at least £102.5m if they are to resign Romelu Lukaku this summer, according to reports.
The Belgian, who was sold by Chelsea for just £28m in 2014, has excelled at Inter Milan, scoring 64 goals in 95 appearances following his move from Manchester United in 2019.
As a result, Lukaku has emerged as a potential transfer target for the Blues, who are in the market for a striker after Timo Werner’s disappointing debut campaign.

According to Tuttosport, though, Inter want to keep hold of their talisman – despite their precarious financial situation – and would demand a nine-digit fee if any club was intent on prising him away.
Lukaku is also keen on staying put, telling VTM before the start of Euro 2020: “Yes, I am staying, I’ve already had contact with the man who normally becomes our new manager [Simone Inzaghi]. Maybe I shouldn’t say that yet… but it was a very positive conversation.”
Chelsea’s first choice had initially been Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland, but their prospects of signing him are thought to have diminished after having an £130m bid rejected by the German side.
Haaland, who hit 41 goals in 41 appearances last season, is valued at £150m, and recently indicated that he would remain at Dortmund for the upcoming campaign after revealing he was “looking forward to working” with new head coach Marco Rose.
“I talked a little bit with him,” the Norwegian told Stadium Astro. “I know him from before because I had six months with him in Salzburg. He’s a nice guy and I look forward to working with him.

“The training is so hard here, so it’s exactly the same as it was in Salzburg, a lot of hard training and there is going to be a lot of running. That’s what I expect the tactic to be to press a lot, run a lot and attack a lot.
“Now we have to have a good pre-season and have to get to know each other and we will see.
“We won the DFB Pokal last season which was very important for us as a club and the fans. That was important and we have to see.”
