WWE NXT aired on the WWE Network on Wednesday from Winter Park, Fla., and a compelling part of the episode was Johnny Gargano talking about why he was the one that attacked Aleister Black.
Here’s a breakdown of the aired footage. Why Johnny Why? Gargano said Black got in the way of his path to Tommoso Ciampa, and that made Black collateral damage. Gargano added that sometimes to get what you want you have to fight dirty, and he wasn’t afraid of doing that or the dark anymore. He isn’t afraid of Black, either. Here’s a look at the video:

Out of the ring, Matt Riddle had a segment where they reviewed his in-ring debut in NXT and that ended with a rather ominous threat from Kassius Ohno. Ohno called Riddle one of Commissioner William Regal’s new toys and Ohno loves breaking toys. We also saw footage of Adam Cole winning the North American Championship and Roderick Strong joining the Undispute Era. That was followed by Raymond Rowe saying the war is here, footage of Ricochet beating Cole for the title and UK Champ Pete Dunne saying he won’t let The Undisputed Era take advantage of him with the numbers game anymore.
In the ring, Otis Dozovic and Tucker Knight won the opening tag match over Wesley Blake and Steve Cutler when Dozovic hit Cutler with a Standing Powerslam. Dakota Kai followed with a victory over Taynara Conti after a series of kicks set up the Code Red Lungblower for the three count. In the main event, Lars Sullivan defeated Velveteen Dream with the help of interference from the Champ Ciampa. Dream had just hit Sullivan with a Death Valley Driver and was going up top when Ciampa came out. Dream hit Ciampa with a Crossbody, but then Sullivan got Dream with a Freak Accident for the three count.
After the match, Ciampa tried to Powerbomb Dream onto the belt, but Dream turned the tables hitting a Reverse DDT onto the belt before going up top for an Elbow Drop as officials tried to break things up and NXT went off the air. Here are highlights of the matches below:
