Man Utd call agent as they consider €50m+ Napoli transfer hijack
Man Utd have made a late attempt to contact the agent of Lille striker Victor Osimhen ahead of his potential move to Napoli, according to reports in Italy.
On Tuesday there was news in L’Equipe that Lille were ‘preparing’ for his sale to Napoli with Liverpool out of the running for Osimhen’s signature.
There has been big progress this week with a deal ‘partly decided’ despite his transfer to Napoli not being ‘registered’ yet.

The report added that the two clubs met up on Monday evening to ‘begin concrete negotiations’ after Osimhen decided ‘not to continue’ talks with other clubs.
Osimhen had previously been described as a ‘priority’ target for Man Utd but those rumours have faded in recent months until this fresh report in CalcioNapoli24 (via Sport Witness).
The Italian website spoke to journalist Ciro Venerato, who now claims that Man Utd called Osimhen’s new agent ‘hours ago’ to find out how far along his deal with Napoli was.
It is expected that a €50m+ transfer to Napoli will be completed soon, despite his agent preferring to strike a deal with a Premier League club, and Venerato admits that a move would be unlikely to collapse now.
There is no suggestion an offer has been made yet by the Red Devils but the Serie A side would fail to compete financially with Man Utd if a battle arose.
On why Osimhen has recently changed agents, Venerato said: “Like all Nigerians, Osimhen asked to get his dream move to the Premier League. However, no offers arrived and his entourage advised him to accept Napoli.
“Then the new agent arrived who told Victor he would either take him to England or get him more wages from Napoli”.
