MSU Hosts Southwest Minnesota State

MANKATO, Minn. – The Minnesota State Mavericks host Southwest Mustangs on Thursday at 7 p.m. at Taylor Center.

MSU (2-0, 2-0 NSIC) looks to avenge its loss to SMSU (3-2, 0-0 NSIC) from last season. The Mustangs look to start its dual season with a win.

The Mustangs come in the dual with one ranked member, #5 Cole Wilson. MSU also has a ranked wrestler, #4 Cody Quinn (Sr., 165 lbs.).

Da’Wayne Robertson (Jr. 125 lbs.) is 2-0 after two duals and has earned the team 10 points, while Malcolm Allen (Jr. 285 lbs.) is 2-0 while earning 7 points for the team.

Freshman Corey Abernathy (Fr., 184 lbs.) started his dual career off with a tech fall win of 16-1 over Kobina Henriques at the 5:35 mark.

MSU gets the week off before hosting U-Mary next Thursday, Jan. 22, at 7 p.m.
