Pundit tips ‘son’ Messi to join Guardiola at Man City
Former striker Darren Bent thinks Lionel Messi could join Pep Guardiola at Manchester City this summer with his future at Barcelona up in the air.
Barcelona superstar Messi won three La Liga titles, two Copa del Reys and two Champions Leagues under Guardiola between 2008 and 2012.
The Argentinian has since gone on to win loads more but there have been strong rumours that Messi could leave the Camp Nou soon with reports claiming their La Liga and Champions League failures this season have left him feeling ‘isolated’.

And Bent, who played for the likes of Tottenham, Sunderland and Aston Villa, reckons Messi could find himself at the Etihad Stadium with the 33-year-old like a “son” to Guardiola.
“I could see Lionel Messi going to Manchester City,” Bent told talkSPORT.
“Man City aren’t the only team that could afford him, PSG could as well, but when you talk about the relationship between him and Pep…
“Pep still now always talks glowingly about Lionel Messi and him being the best player ever. He even spoke about him after their Champions League exit.
“I can’t see him leaving Barcelona, I just can’t see it happening, but if he does, I could see him at Manchester City.
“Pep loves him, he’s like his son!”
