Real Madrid have opened talks with Manchester United over the potential transfer of Paul Pogba to Spain, according to reports.

Pogba is said to be desperate to join Real after three years of inconsistency at Old Trafford, with Neville Southall keen to see him leave United.

The Daily Mail claimed on Thursday that United’s board are prepared to ‘stand firm and rebuff approaches’ for the 26-year-old this summer.

With the report adding at the time that United ‘doubt whether Juventus have the money available to finalise a deal’ for the midfielder.

However, The Sun reckons that Real Madrid ‘met with United officials last week’ over Pogba when they came over to England to wrap up the deal for Eden Hazard with Chelsea.

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez will  ‘now weigh up whether to meet United’s £150million asking price’ with United wanting to make a profit from the £89million they paid Juventus for Pogba.

Now Real have tied up a deal for Hazard, The Sun adds that the France international is ‘next on boss Zinedine Zidane’s hitlist’.
