SmackDown ratings hold steady against VP debate
Last night’s episode of SmackDown averaged 2.316 million viewers, down less than one percent from last week’s show.
The show had heavy competition on cable with baseball’s American League wildcard game scoring 4.195 million viewers, and debate coverage on various networks dominating the top of the ratings charts.
This was the second lowest total since the brand split, beating only the September 20th show, which did 2.292 million viewers.
As it has done most weeks, with just a couple exceptions, SmackDown retained between 80 and 85 percent of the Raw audience from the night before, this week settling in at 83.05 percent.
SmackDown was seventh for the night in the 18-49 demo, trailing the baseball game, debate coverage and the BET Hip Hop Awards. Here are the weekly totals for both Raw and SmackDown since the brand split:
While the numbers in recent weeks have been down from the strong opening after moving to the live format on Tuesdays, they are still up from what the show had been doing on Thursdays.
