Solskjaer ‘could try again’ after Barca man rejected Man Utd
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could attempt to bring Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele to Man Utd in the next transfer window, according to reports in Spain.
The France international was the subject of interest from the Red Devils after the club failed to meet Borussia Dortmund’s asking price for Jadon Sancho this summer.
Man Utd were very active on transfer deadline day, bringing in five players, including Porto’s Alex Telles and free agent Edinson Cavani.

However, reports suggest that United’s recruitment team couldn’t get a deal for Dembele over the line as they looked for Sancho alternatives.
Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo (via Sport Witness) claims that Dembele ‘did not accept’ a loan move to Man Utd.
The 23-year-old, who is unlikely to be first choice under Ronald Koeman this season, refused to sign a new contract that would’ve paved the way for Barcelona to accept a season-long loan to Man Utd.

Meanwhile, another Spanish publication Sport added that Barcelona ‘tried to convince’ Dembele to leave for Man Utd on a temporary basis as it would’ve helped them get a deal for Lyon’s Memphis Depay over the line.
Instead, Dembele’s refusal ‘ended up blowing up the operation’ after the Frenchman ‘gave no option’ over a possible exit.
It is understood that Solskjaer ‘could try again’ despite Dembele remaining ‘firm in his stance not to go to United’.
