Premier League outfit Man Utd are ahead of Spanish side Sevilla in the race to sign Sergio Reguilon from Real Madrid, according to reports.

The Spaniard is one of five players the Red Devils should sign if they want to challenge for the Premier League title with reports claiming that Real Madrid are happy for him to leave this summer.

The left-back – who has impressed on loan at Sevilla this season – was being targeted by Chelsea before the Blues secured a deal for Ben Chilwell last week.

The Madrid academy graduate has struggled to break into the first team under Zinedine Zidane, with Marcelo and Ferland Mendy currently battling for the spot on the left side of the defence.

Reguilon was named in the LaLiga team of the year and there have been rumours previously that Real would be willing to accept a fee in the region of £18m.

AS said five days ago that a ‘very interesting offer has arrived from’ Man Utd, while transfer expert Fabrizio Romano told his Twitter followers on Monday that Reguilon had been ‘offered’ to the Red Devils by Real.

And now Mundo Deportivo (via Sport Witness) claims that ‘everything indicates’ that he will leave the Bernabeu in this transfer window, while another Spanish publication Sport goes with a headline that ‘Solskjaer tempts Reguilon’.

Sport adds that Man Utd ‘would be willing’ to offer €30m for the Spain international and a salary of €5m to lure him to Old Trafford.

Sevilla are again mentioned as a possibility but it is believed that the better terms on offer at United will win the day.

And finally COPE reports that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are ‘best placed’ to beat off competition and sign Reguilon – but have no interest in a buy-back clause.
