Tag Team Match Set for Elimination Chamber, ROH Main Event Set

A brand new championship match has just been made official for WWE’s
upcoming Elimination Chamber pay-per-view. As seen during the Royal
Rumble event this past weekend, Shane McMahon and The Miz were able to
defeat The Bar in order to win the SmackDown Tag Team Championships. It
was a major victory for Miz and McMahon, and on last night’s episode of
SmackDown, McMahon even brought out The Miz’s father to finally tell his
son that he is proud of him. Unfortunately, being titleholders means
that there are other WWE Superstars just waiting to take those titles.
As such, Shane McMahon and The Miz will have to defend their championships against a top team at the Elimination Chamber event next month.
During yesterday’s edition of SmackDown in the Talking Stick Resort Arena in Phoenix, Arizona, it was announced that Shane McMahon and The Miz will put their newly-won tag team titles on the line against The Usos at the Elimination Chamber event. The Usos won the right to challenge Miz and McMahon by defeating Heavy Machinery, The Bar, and The New Day in a Fatal 4-Way Elimination tag team match. If The Usos are able to beat McMahon and Miz for the titles, it will mark the beginning of their fourth reign as SmackDown Tag Team Champions. McMahon and Miz have only been the champions of the SmackDown tag team division since Sunday, but they could end up losing the titles as early as February 17th.

The main event for the upcoming Ring of Honor event has just been confirmed. ROH is coming to the Watsco Center in Miami, Florida for their Bound By Honor show this February. The show will be headlined by a six-man tag team match featuring Jay Lethal, RUSH, and Jonathan Gresham taking on ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Champions The Kingdom (which consists of Matt Taven, TK O’Ryan and Vinny Marseglia). Also announced for the Bound By Honor is a match which will see Jeff Cobb defend the ROH World Television Championship against Rocky Romero. The show takes place on February 10th, and the promotion is expected to announce even more matches for the card within the next few weeks or so.
