Top NXT Star Injury Reportedly Not Legitimate, More On WWE Moving TLC PPV, Matches Set for October Supershow
Following NXT Takeover Chicago, WWE reported that Lars Sullivan, who faced Aleister Black at the event, suffered a broken jaw during the match.
However, according to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Sullivan is not actually injured, and the injury reported by WWE is simply part of the storyline. The idea behind the story is to make Sullivan look strong in defeat, as he “broke his jaw” early in the match but was able to continue fighting. WWE is keeping Sullivan off TV for a few weeks to sell the injury angle.
More On WWE Altering PPV Schedule, Matches Set for Supershow
As noted, WWE has made changes to its PPV calendar this year, moving the originally scheduled TLC PPV from October to December.
The original date for WWE TLC was October 21st, however, in its place, WWE is now advertising a Supershow featuring the stars of both Raw and Smackdown. The WWE TLC PPV has been moved to December, and as of now, the planned December PPV, Clash of Champions, is up in the air. According to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, TLC might have been bumped off the October date as WWE is already running a PPV event in October, with the Super Show-Down event taking place in Australia on 10/6.
With regards to the 10/21 Supershow, which will take place at The TD Garden in Boston, the official arena website is advertising the following for the event:
