Former Vice President Joe Biden announced his support for House Democrats’ impeachment inquiry into President Donald Trump in a campaign speech on Wednesday.

“Donald Trump has violated his oath of office, betrayed this nation, and committed impeachable acts,” Biden told a crowd in New Hampshire.

“No president in American history has ever dared to engage in such unimaginable behavior,” he said. “With his words and his actions, President Trump has indicted himself by obstructing justice, refusing to comply with the congressional inquiry. He’s already convicted himself in full view of the world and the American people.”

Biden added that Trump was “shooting holes in the Constitution, and we cannot let him get away with it.”

“Trump isn’t just testing us — he’s laughing at us. He has no sense of decency,” Biden said, adding, “We have to prove him wrong.”

House Democrats initiated an impeachment inquiry last month following revelations that Trump asked the Ukrainian president to investigate Biden and his son Hunter shortly after Trump froze $391 million in military aid to the country.

The president was quick to respond to Biden on Wednesday, repeating his unfounded accusations that the Bidens engaged in corrupt activity in Ukraine.

“So pathetic to see Sleepy Joe Biden, who with his son, Hunter, and to the detriment of the American Taxpayer, has ripped off at least two countries for millions of dollars, calling for my impeachment – and I did nothing wrong,” Trump tweeted. “Joe’s Failing Campaign gave him no other choice!”

Support for the impeachment inquiry has reached new highs. A Washington Post/Schar School poll released Tuesday found that a whopping 58% of American adults supported House Democrats’ impeachment probe, while 49% said they thought the president should be removed from office.
