Who Booked McIntyre’s Raw Win? Jericho’s GRR Pay, Lashley/Lesnar
WWE Superstar Drew McIntyre has been groomed to be a top star ever since he returned to the main roster earlier this year. That has really come apparent over the past few weeks as he continues to compete on his own, and he is even now reportedly being considered as a possible opponent for Universal Champion Brock Lesnar in the near future. McIntyre got one of the biggest wins of his career on Raw this week when he defeated Kurt Angle in the main event of the show. According to Sports Illustrated, Angle came up with the idea to have McIntyre beat him on Raw this past Monday night. The WWE Hall of Famer then passed the idea forward to Vince McMahon, who gave the final approval needed for the finish to the match to take place.
Chris Jericho is undoubtedly one of the most successful wrestlers in the business today. Not only is Jericho proving himself in New Japan Pro Wrestling and with his own recent wrestling themed cruise, but he also still has a close relationship with key officials in WWE. His last match in WWE took place at the Greatest Royal Rumble event earlier this year, wherein he compete in the 50-man Royal Rumble match. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter has just reported that the current IWGP Intercontinental Champion earned about $100,000 for working the show in Saudi Arabia back in April. For right now, Jericho appears to be continuing his wrestling career elsewhere without another WWE return anywhere in sight.
Bobby Lashley returned to WWE to prove himself, but he has also made it very clear that he wants to have a match against current Universal Champion, Brock Lesnar, at some point in the future. Although the match still has yet to take place, Lashley is confident that the fight will indeed take place. Lashley told SPORTBible earlier this week that he believes a match between himself and “The Beast Incarnate” will definitely happen someday. Lashley says that fans are always asking him about the possibility of the match, so he will do whatever it takes to finally step in the ring with Lesnar. Bobby also talked about returning to WWE earlier this year, leaving in 2008, and his new alliance with Lio Rush during the interview.
“I can post on social media and the people will reply ‘we wanna see you and Brock.’ It has been building for the last ten years or so. Eventually it’s gonna happen because the fans want it to happen that bad.” Lashley said.
