Will Undetaker Return? Updates on Mysterio/WWE & Paige Returning
Roman Reigns seemingly sent The Undertaker into retirement during this year’s Wrestlemania show. After losing to Reigns, “The Phenom” removed his coat, gloves, and hat before disappearing into the night. Despite the match seemingly appearing to signal the end for The Undertaker, some fans have noticed WWE referring to Undertaker as “possibly retired” since the match. Dave Meltzer chimed in on Wrestling Observer Radio, and he believes that an Undertaker return is likely not happening. Meltzer admits that Undertaker greatly required surgery recently, and that “he decided it was time to go before that, but he came back.” While Dave admits that a return is definitely still possible, it doesn’t seem too likely at the moment.
With Rey Mysterio set to depart Lucha Underground imminently, speculation on Mysterio rejoining WWE or signing with GFW began almost instantly. Sports Illustrated recently claimed that WWE decided to pass on signing Mysterio, but now the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has reported why. Despite reports that WWE did not want to negotiate with Konnan, the latter spoke to the Observer, claiming that he has not negotiated for Rey thus far and that Rey would’ve negotiated alone if WWE had a problem with him. It appears that Rey wanted to work a schedule with limited dates, which WWE refused. Rey has been looking into GFW as a result.
Paige has been off of WWE television for over a year now, but that has not stopped her from making the news. Despite all that she has gone through over the past year, she does still seem intent on making a return to WWE. Pro Wrestling Sheet’s James McKenna claimed through Twitter that Paige is scheduled to undergo medical evaluations at the end of this month. Paige admitted that she recently underwent a CT scan and one last checkup on the Busted Open Radio show. If she is cleared to return to the ring soon, she could finally make her WWE return. We will keep you updated on the status of Paige as it continues to develop.
